Aston Villa are ready to offload up to ten players during the summer transfer window to raise funds for Steve Bruce's four targets amid financial fair play regulations.
The club are close to breaching spending rules after splurging the cash last summer and want to drastically trim the squad to balance the books.
Bruce has identified four primary additions in a bid to mount a push for promotion next season after a hugely disappointing 13th-place finish but a number of current players must be shifted on at the same time.
The futures of Jordan Veretout, Jordan Amavi, Aaron Tshibola, Tommy Elphick, Carles Gil, Aly Cissokho, Gabby Agbonlahor, Micah Richards, and Ross McCormack – brought in for a combined £45million – are all uncertain.
