Chris Coleman defended Neil Taylor over his leg-breaking tackle on Republic of Ireland defender Seamus Coleman, insisting: ‘He’s NOT that type of player!’
Everton star Coleman was carried from the field on a stretcher after Taylor had been shown a straight red card for his badly timed season-ending tackle during Friday’s fierce World Cup qualifier in Dublin, which ended 0-0.
The Football Association of Ireland confirmed later that Coleman had broken his right leg and the Toffees defender is expected to undergo surgery on Saturday.
