Birmingham defender Paul Robinson charged by FA with violent conduct after he appeared to kick and throw punch at James Chester during derby

The Football Association have charged Paul Robinson with violent conduct after a video emerged of the Birmingham defender appearing to kick and throw a punch at James Chester during the Second City derby.

The FA were aware of the incident immediately after Gabby Agbonlahor scored the only goal of the game but wanted to study all footage before deciding if Robinson' s actions merit a violent conduct charge.

Chester fell to the floor as he ran to celebrate Agbonlahor's goal, tripped by the Birmingham captain, who also looked to have aimed a kick with his other leg, and thrown his fist in the manner of a punch.
