Harry Redknapp's first game in charge of Birmingham ended in derby defeat at Aston Villa.
After a first half of few chances, during which Che Adams blasted over for Birmingham when well placed, Villa boss Steve Bruce threw on Gabby Agbonlahor in search of a winner after the break and the veteran forward provided just that.
Agbonlahor, who hadn't found the back of the net in 14 months, poked in from a corner to leave the visitors still staring at the prospect of relegation.
