Gary Cahill says the Manchester terror attack has had a ‘devastating impact’ on Chelsea’s players ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup final.
Cahill, who is set to captain the Premier League champions at Wembley, admits it has been difficult for his team-mates to keep their minds on the job during a week which has shaken the nation.
The UK’s threat level has been raised to ‘critical’ in the wake of the 22 deaths in a blast at the Manchester Arena on Monday and there is set to be a heavy, armed police presence at Wembley on Saturday.
Cahill, 31, will have his young family at the final and says he wants to try to treat the occasion as ‘a normal game’.
