Mesut Ozil has provisionally agreed a new contract with Arsenal, according to reports in Germany.

The attacking midfielder's current deal expires in under two years' time and the Gunners are desperate to extend his stay.

The 27-year-old enjoyed his best campaign in north London so far last season, finishing up with 19 assists in the Premier League.

Arsenal have long been locked in contract talks with Ozil but, according to Sport Bild, a provisional agreement has now been struck.

The Germany international is reportedly set to sign a new deal until the summer of 2020 worth around £200,000-a-week.
