CONWAY, S.C. (3/24/17) – The Arkansas State baseball team’s offense couldn’t solve Coastal Carolina starter Alex Cunningham as the Red Wolves only managed one hit in a 5-0 loss to the Chanticleers in the series opener Friday night at Springs Brooks Stadium in Conway, S.C.
Cunningham threw the first complete game shutout of his career as he limited A-State (11-10, 2-2 SBC) to three baserunners with two coming via walk and the other on a hit. He struck out 10 in the outing to earn the victory for the Chanticleers (13-9, 2-2 SBC).
A-State starter Bryan Ayers matched Cunningham as the Vilonia, Ark.
