JONESBORO, Ark. (12/2/16) – Arkansas State head men’s golf coach Mike Hagen has announced that Jakub Bares, a 2016 NJCAA Honorable Mention All-America selection and the Golfstat No.3-ranked junior college player in the nation this year, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Red Wolves beginning with the 2017-18 season.
Hagen, the 2016 Sun Belt Conference Men’s Golf Coach of the Year, also recruited Bares at Indian Hills Community College (IHCC) before joining the Red Wolves’ program as head coach in July of 2015. Bares helped lead the Warriors to the top spot in Golfstat’s NJCAA rankings this past fall, one year after earning academic all-region and first-team all-district honors during the 2015-16 season.
