In a lot of ways, Arkansas seemed to regress in 2016.
In the fourth season under coach Bret Bielema, the Razorbacks went just 7-6 for the second time in three years and were markedly poor in a number of different areas, particularly on defense. Even a usually strong rushing attack floated closer to mediocrity than good.
Collectively – even though it too had some drop off – Arkansas did have a strong enough offense to win most of its games but defensive breakdowns seemed to be the root of the team’s woes.
For the Razorbacks, perhaps no game showed that more than their 35-24 loss to Virginia Tech in the Belk Bowl.
