LITTLE ROCK – The Little Rock baseball team's Sun Belt Tournament opening-round game against Texas State has now been rescheduled for Thursday at 5:30 p.m. central. The game will be played at its original venue, J.I. Clements Stadium on the campus of Georgia Southern.
Due to rainy conditions on Tuesday and Wednesday that cancelled the competition's original schedule, the tournament will now be contested in single-elimination format, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
Considering field conditions and the amount of rainfall over the past few days and forecasted into the overnight hours, it was determined that the single elimination format was the only option that provided the best opportunity for the tournament to be fully completed and decided on the field.
