TEMPE – The Arizona State University water polo team has named former CSUN head coach Marty Matthies as the program's newest assistant coach, as announced by head coach Todd Clapper on Wednesday.
"We are very fortunate to have Marty joining the Sun Devil staff. He is an accomplished player and coach," Clapper said. "In addition to his experience, Marty brings high energy and an innovative approach to his coaching. I'm looking forward to all that he will add to the program."
Matthies spent two seasons with the Matadors, leading the program to a 15-11 record his first season in 2015 while finishing second in the Big West Conference standings.
