ASU Hockey Cruises To 8-1 Win On Historic Night

GLENDALE, Ariz– Arizona State hockey, in its first game as a fully fledged NCAA program, rolled through the University of Arizona with an 8-1 victory in front of 5,385 at Gila River Arena.

“Great night to be a Sun Devil," head coach Greg Powers said. "Great crowd. We appreciate everyone coming out, that was awesome."

History was made when junior defenseman Connor Schmidt opened the scoring with an unassisted goal just over seven and a half minutes into the game.
