Arizona State and men's basketball coach Bobby Hurley have agreed in principle to a one-year extension, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. The agreement extends Hurley's contract to the 2021 season.
ASU hired Hurley last summer at a base salary of $1.2 million. According to his initial contract, Hurley will receive a $100,000 raise July 1. The contract extension -- the terms of which are not yet known -- still has to be approved by the Arizona Board of Regents.
In Hurley's first year, the Sun Devils finished 15-17, placing 11th in the Pac-12.
