Arizona State's 3 Most Likely Bowl Opponents

The Sun Devils finished the 2014 season with a 6-3 conference record and an impressive 9-3 overall record. With statement wins over Notre Dame and USC, Arizona State has a national profile that could land them in a solid bowl game this year, after losing to Texas Tech in the Holiday Bowl a season ago. So who could the Sun Devils play this year?

Oklahoma

The Sooners finished 9-3 on the year and are a consideration for the Alamo Bowl along with Kansas State. A date with Oklahoma would be an intriguing matchup of two teams that dipped in the rankings over the season's second half. This would be a good draw of both fan bases, making an ASU-Oklahoma slotting something the committee may be very interested in.

Nebraska

The Cornhuskers seem ticketed to the Holiday Bowl with Ohio State and Michigan State near locks for New Year's Six bowl selections, and Wisconsin favorites for the Citrus Bowl. Even with the firing of Bo Pelini, Nebraska would be the most appealing team remaining for the Holiday Bowl, over the likes of Minnesota, Iowa and Maryland.

Louisville

The Sun Devils would be set up with a matchup against ACC opponent Louisville if ASU ends up in the Sun Bowl. At 9-3, the Cardinals would be a solid opponent despite a disappointing bowl (the Sun Devils would be missing out on the Holiday Bowl and the Alamo Bowl if they land here), and a game that would likely outplay its billing.
