Segura leaves after being hit in helmet by pitch

PITTSBURGH -- D-backs second baseman Jean Segura was struck in the helmet by a 96-mph fastball thrown by Arquimedes Caminero in the seventh inning Tuesday night with the Pirates leading, 9-1.

Segura lay face down on the ground while being looked at by assistant athletic trainer Ryan DiPanfilo. After a brief period on the ground, Segura got up and walked off the field under his own power.

No further details on Segura's condition were immediately available.
