Closer Fernando Rodney says he’s expecting to make his Cactus League debut on Thursday and likely will pitch once more before departing for the World Baseball Classic early next week.
“I’m feeling good,” Rodney said. “I’m in good shape. We’ve got a good group here -- a lot of talent, a lot of young guys. I think if we can put everything together we can compete in the division.”
Rodney smiled when asked about his excitement for pitching again in the WBC. Four years ago, he registered seven saves in the tournament, including one in the championship game against Puerto Rico.
