On Thursday night, the Arizona Diamondbacks optioned outfielder Mitch Haniger to Triple-A Reno and made room on the 25-man roster for A.J. Pollock.
The 28-year-old center fielder makes his 2016 season debut Friday night. That’s when the Diamondbacks entertain the Cincinnati Reds in game one of a weekend series at Chase Field. His position in the lineup has not been announced.
