Cardinals Sign Chris Johnson Once Again

Chris Johnson’s time as an Arizona Cardinal isn’t over yet.

The veteran running back signed a one-year contract with the team Thursday, the third straight season he will play under a one-year deal. He’ll try to bounce back from a disappointing 2016 season that ended after Week Four because of a groin injury. Coach Bruce Arians hinted at such a move earlier in the week.

The Cardinals report to training camp Friday, with the first practice on Saturday.

The team already had one open spot on its 90-man roster.

Johnson, who will turn 32 in September, had career-lows in attempts (25) and yards (95) last year because he played in just four games.
