The Angels will send their dynamic duo to the All-Star game. Albert Pujols was selected by his peers to the American League team on Monday, one day after fans elected Mike Trout to the starting lineup.
Pujols also will start the game, in place of injured Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera. Pujols, who leads the AL with 25 home runs, got the most votes on the player ballot of any AL first baseman besides Cabrera.
Trout, the defending AL most valuable player, got the most votes on the player ballot of any player in either league.
