PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The United States Naval Academy and Temple University will be vying for the American Athletic Conference football championship title on Saturday afternoon at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, but teachers and students in the surrounding Annapolis and Philadelphia communities will be the beneficiaries of their on-field successes in 2016.
The College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation is partnering with The American and donating $100,000 to be split between the Annapolis and Philadelphia areas to fund school initiatives through the DonorsChoose.org platform. During Saturday’s contest, there will be an on-field presentation to celebrate and honor the educators in those two American Athletic Conference communities for their hard work and dedication.
