Alabama softball opened its weekend-long event with a pair of wins Friday.
The No. 10 Crimson Tide beat UCF 4-0 before closing with a 7-2 victory over Texas Tech.
Pitching was solid throughout the first day of the Bama Bash. Sydney Littlejohn had a complete-game 2-hit shutout in the opener with six strikeouts and no walks. Alexis Osorio got the second win with a complete-game 2-hitter that included 14 strikeouts.
Merris Schroder had home runs in each of the two Friday wins. Her sixth-inning shot against USC gave the Tide breathing room after holding a 1-0 lead since the third inning.
