Joe Namath participates in Head Injury Awareness and Prevention Forum

Former Alabama and New York Jets quarterback Joe Namath participated in the Head Injury Awareness and Prevention Celebrity Sports Forum at the New York Institute of Technology’s Center for Sports Medicine this week.

Namath, who revealed he had five concussions during his Hall of Fame career, gave his support of hyperbaric oxygen therapy as a treatment for sufferers of traumatic brain injury.

“I think all of us that played the game had gotten our bell rung, so to speak,” Namath said. “That’s what they say: You just got your bell rung; you’ll be all right.
