Class 6A, No.1 Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa capped the school’s third perfect regular season with Thursday’s 34-23 victory over Thompson at Larry Simmons Stadium.
Hillcrest (10-0) scored the final 14 points after Thompson (5-5) took a brief three-point lead late in the fourth quarter, and Alabama running back commit Brian Robinson scored three touchdowns.
Play of the Game: In a game filled with big plays and turnovers, three almost identical TD runs by Robinson stood above the rest. Operating out of the Patriots’ version of the “jumbo” package with Robinson lined up in an unbalanced I-formation, the Alabama commitment had scoring runs of 1, 2 and 3 yards, all off of the right guard.
