Former Alabama defensive tackle O.J. Smith is headed to Minnesota. He announced his transfer destination on Twitter.

Smith will sit out this season under NCAA rules, then be eligible for the Golden Gophers in 2018.
Smith, a former three-star prospect from Bossier City (La.) Airline, made the decision to leave Alabama in June.
He redshirted as a true freshman in 2014, then played in one game in 2015 and one last season; he made a tackle in each of his games.
