Auburn beats Alabama gymnastics for first time in 36 years

The University of Alabama gymnastics team went to the balance beam in Auburn Arena with a 117-meet winning streak on the line. After a season of struggles on the beam, on the road, in a sea of orange, with a wobble from junior Katie Bailey and at least a step on the dismount of five of the six routines, the team came away with a 49.3, its second-best score of the season. With that mark, trailing by 9.9, Auburn needed a season-high score from its floor exercise anchor, Caitlin Atkinson.

Atkinson finished with a 9.925, the Tigers finished with a 49.
