Alabama’s Tony Brown eligible to play again after NCAA suspension ends

Alabama defensive back Tony Brown is eligible to play again, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban announced Monday.

Brown, a junior, missed the first four games of the season due to an NCAA suspension but will be able to play again this Saturday in its SEC home opener against Kentucky.

The suspension stemmed from an incident that occurred in the buildup to Alabama’s College Football Playoff semifinal game against Michigan State last December. Brown was sent home ahead of the game for what the team called a “violation of team rules” and also missed the Crimson Tide’s subsequent national championship game win over Clemson.
