For the first time since 2012, the Alabama baseball team will be watching the NCAA Tournament from home.

Unable to overcome an inconsistent offense or the challenge of playing home games 50 miles away from Tuscaloosa during the renovation of Sewell-Thomas Stadium this season, Alabama finished 32-28 overall and 14-20 in SEC play. It’s 12-18 regular season mark in league play was the biggest culprit in Alabama missing the tournament field. It won only one SEC series against a team in the NCAA field — at Auburn — and lacked a quality series victory outside of the conference.
