Alabama Football Recruiting: 2017 DT Praises Tide After Visit

2017 DT Ryan Johnson (Mobile, AL) took an unofficial visit to Alabama last month, and he's hoping to receiver a scholarship offer soon from the Tide.

“I haven’t talked to the coaches much lately,” Johnson said, via 247sports. “But I’m supposed to get out to one of their spring practices and possibly the game. I talked to Coach (Bo) Davis and Coach (Kirby) Smart. They pretty much just told me how everything works there, what kind of drills they typically do. I really liked the academic center, and where they showed us we’d be our freshmen year.

"The coaches said they liked my explosiveness, and my ability to play against people bigger than my size. They were impressed how I played on the inside my sophomore year, and that they would want me at a three or five technique.”

The 6'4", 240-pounder already has offers from Duke and Auburn, but Alabama will be right at the top of his list if he gets an offer.

“The tradition plays a big part,” Johnson said. “Fifteen championships, and the players that they produce. It’s a business there and that’s always a good thing. They know how to get players to the NFL. Hopefully I’ll get one at a spring practice or if I go to one of their camps this summer. If so they’d be right at the top with Auburn and Duke.”
