Alabama DB Tony Brown qualifies for NCAA championships

Alabama junior defensive back Tony Brown qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 110-meter hurdles Saturday.

Brown finished fourth with a personal-best time of 13.52 seconds at the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Fla., to advance.

On Friday, a day earlier, Brown finished second in his heat with a time of 13.81 seconds to reach Saturday’s quarterfinals in the event.

Brown, who was a first team All-American as a member of the Crimson Tide’s 4×100 relay that finished eighth in the NCAA Championships last season, has an uncertain future with the football team after it was reported last month that he was facing an indefinite suspension from the NCAA.
