AKRON, Ohio – University of Akron senior Dan Zupan (Berea, Ohio) garnered a third-place performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to headline the efforts of the Zips on the opening night of the Jesse Owens Classic hosted by Ohio State on Friday, April 21.
In his first steeplechase of the spring campaign, Zupan crossed the line in 9:08.84.
Placing 11th in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a season-best time of 11:09.27 was redshirt sophomore Elizabeth Mosier (Austintown, Ohio).
Additionally, redshirt sophomore Mackenzie Andrews (Toowoomba, Australia) and junior Garrett Crichlow (Twinsburg, Ohio) registered times of 4:31.
