DeKALB, Ill.- The Akron softball team fell to Northern Illinois, 3-0, in Mid-American Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Mary M. Bell Field
The Zips fell to 12-15 overall and 1-2 in MAC play, while the Huskies improved to 13-11 overall and 2-1 in league play.
The Huskies got on the board in the bottom of the third inning from a solo home run to center field. NIU added a security run from an error on the first baseman for a 2-1 lead.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, an RBI single to left center gave NIU a the final 3-0 advantage over the Zips.
