AKRON, Ohio – Nine University of Akron football players have been named to Athlon Sports' 2017 preseason All-Mid-American Conference teams, the magazine announced on Monday.
Earning preseason first-team All-MAC was junior LB Ulysees Gilbert III (Ocala, Fla.).
Third-team honorees were junior OL Kyle Ritz (Willoughby, Ohio), redshirt junior PK Tom O'Leary (Tucker, Ga.), and junior KR Van Edwards (Cape Coral, Fla.
