University of Akron linebacker Ulysees Gilbert added more pre-season football honors to his name Friday.
Gilbert was selected pre-season MAC Defensive Player of the Year and is a pre-season first-team all-MAC selection.
Third-team all-MAC choices included: placekicker Tom O’Leary, junior kick returner Van Edwards, and senior safety Zach Guiser.
